The Invisible Girl, Lorraine Kimsa Theatre for Young People (Toronto)
Lorraine Kimsa Theatre for Young People is proud to begin its 45th Anniversary Season with The Invisible Girl by award-winning Canadian playwright Michele Riml. This lively and fresh take on the pursuit of popularity will be presented on the Mainstage from October 12 to 23, 2010. With young people just returning to school, this timely play provides parents attending with their children a gentle way to approach the subject of social bullying.
Ali used to be part of the most popular group in Grade 5. Then she made a BIG mistake and now all her best friends treat her like she’s invisible! When no one sees you, it’s amazing how you start to see others. The Invisible Girl is a smart and humorous look at our culture’s preoccupation with fashion, beauty and popularity. It’s about being yourself and standing up for what’s right, even if sometimes it’s easier to be invisible.
Directed by Nina Lee Aquino, featuring Amy Lee. Set & Costume Design & Art Direction by Camellia Koo; Lighting Design by Kimberly Purtell; Original Music & Sound Design and Video Direction by Romeo Candido; Movement Design by Clare Preuss; Stage Management by Kat Chin.
